Overview: JCM Associates, Inc. is hiring HVAC Start-up/Commissioning Technicians for full time year-round positions in commercial mechanical construction projects in the Maryland, Washington DC, Northern VA area.About us: JCM Associates Inc. is a leading provider of commercial HVAC and plumbing services throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region. We work and partner with premier owners, developers, contractors, vendors, and manufacturers in the industry. Our work is primarily focused on commercial mixed-use, medical, university, and government projects. Some of these past and current projects include, The Wharf Phases 1 & 2 in Washington DC, The Baltimore Arena, University of Maryland New Residences, The Anthem, Catholic University and many more. At JCM, we take great pride in our employees and make it a top priority to promote employee growth, company culture training and an environment of team success. We provide wellness programs and an in-house gym as well as many social functions throughout the year. Key Responsibilities:Start-up, commission, maintain, and services industrial/commercial HVAC systems and plumbing equipment. Troubleshoots and locates malfunctions, diagnoses problems, and determines appropriate repairs.Utilize laptops/tablets to document startup and commissioning forms required per project specifications.Works from blueprints, drawings, models, and/or verbal and written instructions.Prove mechanical and plumbing systems being control by building automation systems to third party Commissioning firm.Share partial supervision of NEBB Tab contractor and respond to punch listed equipment.Interface and coordinate activities with ATC sub-contractor.Services and repairs evaporators, condensers, and receivers. Repacks valves, lubricates moving parts, replaces filters, and clean coils.Adjusts, repairs, or replaces thermostats, relays, switches, and electrical wiring.Repairs or replaces compressors and components, electric motors, fans, belts, and pulleys.Maintains refrigerate inventory and consumption logs.Follows established safety procedures and utilizes safety protective equipment and clothing pertaining to trades or skills.Performs other related duties as assigned by direct manager.Complete some minor copper tubing; cut and thread pipe; make pipe and low voltage connections.Provides proper methods of storing and maintaining tools, equipment, and supplies in a safe and orderly condition.Meet schedules and timelines.Record and report all faults, deficiencies, and other unusual occurrences, as well as the time and materials expended on work orders.Test pipe or tubing joints and connections for leaks, using pressure gauge or soap-and-water solution.Teach and instruct helper on the installation of a HVAC system.Minimum Skills/Requirements:CFC/Universal License5 years of experience building commercial mechanical projects or equipmentEffective communication skillsKnowledge of commercial HVAC systemsAbility to read, understand and work from drawings, specifications, and schematicsUnderstands written and verbal instructionsAbility to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environmentAttendance, reliability, dependability, and flexibilityAbility to interact with multiple personality types while ensuring a positive outcomeIncentives/Benefits:Excellent compensation ($82,000 - $104,000 per year)Daily Per Diem Paid (Travel, Housing & Meal expenses covered) Per Diem for qualified applicants traveling in excess of 70 miles per day.
