The Electric Transmission Junior Siting Analyst will support electric utility clients, developers, and other infrastructure clients on transmission projects throughout planning, routing, siting, permitting, and stakeholder engagement phases.

The position will contribute to the successful development of transmission facilities, including overhead and underground lines, substations, interconnections, and related infrastructure. Responsibilities will range from supporting individual technical tasks to leading complete siting workstreams, managing project teams, and providing strategic client guidance.

Core functions of the job may include:
    • Support electric transmission siting activities, corridor/route evaluations, and substation/interconnection site screening from early feasibility through development.

    • Conduct desktop research, field reconnaissance, constraint screening, and comparative route analyses using GIS, aerial imagery, technical studies, and public data.

    • Coordinate with utility clients, engineers, environmental specialists, survey crews, real estate teams, regulators, municipalities, and community stakeholders.

    • Assist in preparing siting study reports, routing memoranda, permitting strategies, exhibits, presentations, and project trackers.

    • Maintain accurate project records, correspondence logs, decision histories, data responses, and document repositories.

    • Identify risks affecting route viability, cost, schedule, permitting, property acquisition, or public acceptance, escalating complex issues appropriately.

    • Assist with internal siting tools, templates, workflows, and best practices.

The Junior Siting Analyst supports day-to-day project activities under the direction of a Siting Lead or Senior Siting Lead.

    Primary responsibilities:
    • Perform research and compile environmental, land-use, property, regulatory, and infrastructure data.

    • Support GIS mapping, constraint screening, route comparisons, and data-quality checks.

    • Assist with field reconnaissance, meeting preparation, site documentation, and stakeholder tracking.

    • Draft assigned portions of technical reports, exhibits, presentations, correspondence, and project trackers.

    • Coordinate assigned tasks with internal teams/consultants and communicate schedule concerns or data gaps promptly

    • Bachelor's degree in planning, geography, environmental science, engineering, natural resources, real estate, public policy, or a related discipline.

    • 2-4 years of experience in environmental planning, permitting, infrastructure, utilities, GIS, or land use.

    • Basic ability to interpret maps and technical documents with strong research, writing, and communication skills.

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and exposure to ArcGIS or other mapping platforms.

    • Willingness to travel periodically for site visits and project meetings

    Ideally, You’ll Also Have:
    • Direct experience supporting electric transmission or comparable linear infrastructure projects.

    • Proven ability to manage multiple task priorities within multidisciplinary teams
