Job description

A Credit Union in Wisconsin, has a tremendous opportunity for an experienced collections professional who can provide exceptional leadership and training to a team of collectors who deliver world-class service and continue to promote their sales culture that strives to improve the way they serve their members.

Passion and enthusiasm are not just desirable, but essential qualities the new leader must possess. Their fervor will be the driving force behind the ongoing world-class service. They must also have a solid knowledge and understanding of the Credit Union’s products and services, as well as working knowledge of exceptional lending and underwriting skills.

Reporting to the Vice President of Lending, this individual will be responsible for implementing, coaching, mentoring, supporting, and monitoring collectors to ensure loan delinquency and losses are minimized, and recoveries are maximized. This is a task of utmost importance, and the new leader will be at the forefront of this effort. Process and improvement of the overall collections group are qualifications needed while providing backup support to the Indirect and Consumer Lending divisions.

The Director will not just recommend proactive adjustments or new policies and procedures to the Vice President, but their recommendations will shape the future of the Credit Union. They will be responsible for adjusting charge-off loans within a specified timeframe per Credit Union policy.

Three to five years of prior collection experience in a leadership role, with a degree in business, finance, or a related field, is desired. Exceptional communication skills with knowledge of federal and state regulations relating to operational activities. The ability to present factual reporting of delinquent loans and special cases to Senior leaders, with recommendations that would impact the member, is essential in this role.
