We are looking for a Tool Builder for Milledgeville, IL plant who is responsible to complete CNC setup, machining of parts posted to their machines. This position will initially train on the day shift but will eventually be assigned to 2nd shift. This person will be Responsible for building, assembling and disassembling inspection fixtures due to the attributes of the machines they operate. Likewise work with larger parts run on universal jig bars and primarily use a back side set up and a front side set up. Tool Builders are also responsible to complete all of the fitting, assembly and finish work after CAD and CNC work is complete and before a tool ships.

  • Starting Rate is $18-19 per hour, with $1 per hour shift differential for hours worked between 7pm and 8am.


Requirements

 Accountabilities:

  • Follow set up sheets posted to running man, setup and operate Haas CNC mill, checking fixture (gauges) manufacture and assembly, inspection of Kanban parts, pins, small parts, checking vents
  • Safely and efficiently load and unload billet, stock and finished parts on and off mills., chip removal as required, check and add coolant
  • Daily rinse mills and weekly clean chip catcher in coolant tray
  • Competition of in process quality checks (including visual checks) as required
  • Continuously improve processes with CAD through the use of engineering feedback loop
  • Attend production turnover meetings; assist in training with Shop Supervisor and senior Cell employees utilizing the "Training Tracker" system.
  • Utilize the shop wide Kanban system and pull system driven mfg. system to support the overall mfg. process
  • Continuously maintain adherence to all attendance, safety, manufacturing, housekeeping and clean up policies.
  • Core vent, pin vent, polish and deburr, line, mount logos, fit individual males to females book tools, plate finishing work, construct water manifolds, construct steam manifolds, complete in-process, General Work instructions (GWI) and QA documentation, banding tools/skids when required
  • Tool assembly and disassembly
