Job description

Job Title- Trade Surveillance Analyst

Project Location – Hybrid 4 days onsite in Jersey City, NJ

Duration- 6+ months contract

Visa- USC/ GC/ GCEAD

About the Role:
Our client, a top-tier management consulting firm, is seeking a Surveillance Analyst to join their Compliance and Monitoring team. This role involves ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and internal policies through proactive monitoring, data analysis, and collaboration across departments. The ideal candidate will combine analytical rigor with sound judgment to identify and mitigate compliance risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect and implement data pipelines and analytics workflows leveraging GCP.
  • Conduct daily monitoring and surveillance activities to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Identify, review, and escalate potential unethical, improper, or illegal business practices.
  • Perform complex reviews using deep knowledge of surveillance systems and trading behaviors.
  • Evaluate and recommend investigative procedures in response to potential violations.
  • Partner with Compliance, Legal, and Front Office teams to strengthen monitoring frameworks.
  • Manage and clear insider trading alert backlogs while maintaining accurate, timely documentation.

Qualifications:

  • 2–5 years of experience in Trade Surveillance, Compliance Monitoring, or related disciplines within financial services.
  • Strong understanding of insider trading regulations, market abuse controls, and trade surveillance systems.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism, integrity, and discretion.
