Job description

Summary:
This position is responsible for assisting the JOVEN team in its implementation of providing school-based behavioral health services. Provides direct services to participants but are not limited to individual and family counseling, backup intake as necessary, case management, mentoring, home visits (depending on division requirements), school contacts, and curriculum-based group programming. Accesses or facilitates referrals to additional resources to meet the needs of the participants. Provides other services through community presentations, collaborations, and service contracts with schools and organizations. Accurately completes all service documentation and data entry.

Education:
  • Must have a Master’s degree in the behavioral health field
  • Must have a current license in good standing in the State of Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) 
  • Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC A)
  • Must be able to pass a required background check
  • Community referral knowledge

Experience:
  • Strong communication skills-verbal and written
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to maintain composure and handle pressure
  • Experience in a community-based and youth-oriented organization
  • Experience in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
  • Experience with or knowledge of trauma-informed care
