Assistant Project Manager – Utility Electrical Construction
JML Search is partnering with a leading electrical contractor in Southern California to identify an Assistant Project Manager to support utility electrical and civil infrastructure construction projects.
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Fullerton, CA. The role requires regular travel to utility electrical construction project sites throughout Southern California. What You'll Do
- Assist Project Managers with the planning, coordination, and execution of utility electrical construction projects.
- Coordinate field operations, subcontractors, vendors, and material deliveries.
- Track project schedules, RFIs, submittals, budgets, and change orders.
- Support procurement, project documentation, reporting, and project closeout.
- Work closely with field teams to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of experience as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer, or Project Coordinator within utility electrical, civil infrastructure, or public works construction.
- Experience supporting projects involving street lighting, light poles, traffic signals, underground utilities, dry utilities, or similar utility electrical infrastructure is highly preferred.
- Experience working on municipal or public agency projects is a plus.
- Strong understanding of RFIs, submittals, scheduling, procurement, and project documentation.
- Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar construction software is preferred.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
