JLK Architects is a Chicago-based woman-owned full-service architectural design firm and WE. ARE. GROWING! We are a collaborative team of architects, historians, and planners that provide services in three core practice areas: Architecture & Interior Design, Historic Preservation Architecture & Planning, and Transit & Infrastructure. We are excited to promote an open position for a Graduate Marketing Intern to support our Marketing and Business Development team.

What does a Graduate Marketing Intern position at JLK entail? They work alongside our Director of Marketing and Business Development on a variety of exciting pursuits and campaigns. Work may include:

Proposal Support

• Assist with formatting, editing, and assembling qualifications packages and competitive proposal responses
• Support creating presentations and interview decks

Collateral Creation & Management

• Support the design and management of marketing materials like project profiles, practice area overviews, and staff resumes
• Creating and organizing graphics and photography for marketing purposes
• Updating current marketing collateral as needed
• Help prepare copy and graphic content for the JLK website

Digital & Social Content

• Assist with social media calendar development highlighting project milestones, awards, and firm culture
• Manage social media content for multiple platforms - content, publishing, engagement, and performance reporting
• Support email marketing strategy and creation – content, publishing, engagement, and performance reporting

Minimum Qualifications:

The ideal candidate is pursuing an advanced degree in Marketing and Communications, Graphic Design, Architecture, History, Historic Preservation, or related fields with an interest in architecture, urban planning, and historic preservation.

·       Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, etc.)

·       Self-motivated team player who enjoys learning and takes pride in their work

·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·       Organized and able to manage multiple project deadlines

·       Chicago-based

Preferred Qualifications:

·       Experience with or knowledge of MailChimp or similar email and SMS marketing platforms

·       Experience with or knowledge of Wordpress or similar website management system

·       Experience with or knowledge of UX/UI is a plus!

Compensation: $30/Hour, 15-20 hours per week
