Description
The Outreach and Program Coordinator is responsible for supporting the daily operations, programming, outreach, and community engagement efforts of JCCGCI's Older Adult Center Program. This role promotes awareness of Older Adult Center services and activities, develops and coordinates programs and special events, assists with administrative and reporting functions, and builds relationships with community partners to increase participation and access to services. The Outreach and Program Coordinator serves as a key representative of the Older Adult Center within the community and works closely with staff, volunteers, and community stakeholders to support program growth, engagement, and compliance with DFTA requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement outreach and marketing strategies to promote Older Adult Center programs, services, activities, and resources.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community stakeholders, including community merchants, medical offices, hospitals, housing developments, community agencies, and partner organizations.
  • Represent the Older Adult Center at community events, meetings, and outreach activities to promote services and engage potential participants.
  • Develop, organize, implement, and evaluate programs, workshops, activities, day trips, and special events based on the interests and needs of Older Adult participants.
  • Coordinate activities and programming with neighborhood Older Adult Centers and community partners.
  • Promote and publicize programs, activities, and special events to increase awareness and participation.
  • Create, maintain, and distribute the Monthly Newsletter, Calendar of Events, and other promotional materials to participants, community agencies, and partner organizations.
  • Assist with the daily operations of the Older Adult Center, including recordkeeping, answering phones, taking messages, providing information, preparing bank deposits, and preparing invoices for payment.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly reports and documentation required by DFTA and JCCGCI.
  • Coordinate transportation arrangements when necessary to support participation in programs and activities.
  • Recruit, coordinate, supervise, and support volunteers for center activities and community initiatives.
  • Conduct or facilitate activities, workshops, and presentations at the Older Adult Center and in community settings.
  • Maintain a limited direct client caseload consisting of assistance clients, as assigned.
  • Track outreach activities, program participation, and outcomes, and provide updates and reports to the Program Director.
  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, professional development activities, and program planning initiatives.
  • Serve as a representative of JCCGCI's Older Adult Centers and programs in collaboration with interagency initiatives.
  • Additional duties, as assigned.

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Services, Gerontology, Recreation, Communications, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in community outreach, program coordination, social services, recreation, human services, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience working with Older Adult populations preferred.
  • Experience in outreach, marketing, public relations, volunteer coordination, or community engagement preferred.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other basic computer applications.
  • Familiarity with data entry, reporting systems, and administrative recordkeeping.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in both office and community-based settings.
  • Friendly, patient, culturally sensitive, and service-oriented approach.
  • Bilingual English-Russian, English-Mandarin, or English-Cantonese preferred.

Pay: $25.00 per hour
Schedule: 29 hours per week
