System Engineer Principal- Pentagon J2 & J8 SETA Outreach Rep
Join a winning team! Be part of a dynamic group committed to delivering excellence and quality for the NRO's Mission Integration Directorate (MID) Warfighter Capability Office. SAIC is seeking a Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) as the Joint Staff J2/J8 Outreach Representative. This role focuses on customer outreach activities, primarily engaging with Joint Staff J2 and Joint Staff J8 senior personnel and subordinate offices from NRO office located within the Pentagon. Make an impact by enhancing our nation's security and warfighting capabilities through effective outreach that promotes NRO's systems, tools and capabilities.
Responsibilities:
  • Engage across the entire Defense Intelligence Enterprise (DIE) utilizing customer domain experience and expertise in all disciplines.
  • Collaborate with the Joint Staff J2/J8, leveraging the Joint Force Requirements Process to advocate customer programs and present customer capability solutions for Combatant Command (CCMD) and Military Service intelligence capability gaps.
  • Draft issue papers and status reports that address customer support to the Joint Staff, Joint Immediate Capability Requirements (JICRs).
  • Facilitate communication and cooperation, providing National Systems technical collection expertise to Joint Staff customers and users, including top-ranking officials.
  • Offer expert advice, comprehensive training, exercise and operational support to DIE partners, identifying customer capabilities that contribute to user success.
  • Attend Joint Staff meetings, produce and distribute intelligence and activities summaries for customer leadership.
  • Provide strategic planning and senior staff support, including the coordination of strategic and operational engagements.
  • Implement customer strategic messaging, track user needs, capture business intelligence and data metrics, and manage customer relationships.
  • Interact frequently with government, SETA, FFRDC, and external stakeholders.

Qualifications
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Bachelor's degree and at least 9 years of related professional experience. Master's degree and 7 years of experience, or PhD and 4 years of experience.
  • Highly self-motivated, with strong technical and leadership skills; professional and tactful under pressure; effective negotiation and diplomatic abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinated communication across the Defense Intelligence Enterprise (DIE) and Department of War (DoW), including with senior military and government civilian personnel and contractors.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Intelligence Community (IC) and customer domain, along with proven experience in technical fundamentals related to IC space collectors, command and control, mission control, and mission processing.
  • Experience in identifying user needs and gaps, finding potential solutions, and assessing or analyzing alternatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic, and energetic environment.
  • Customer-focused and capable of representing the customer in community forums.
  • Knowledge of SIGINT and GEOINT remote sensing systems, capabilities, protection, and overall space and ground architecture, including mission management and mission tasking, collection, processing, exploitation, and dissemination functions.

Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
