This position functions as a critical role to the CISO-serving as a gatekeeper, trusted partner, and integrator across Information Security Services (ISS), Technology, Risk, Legal, Audit, and senior enterprise leadership across various business lines. Success in this role requires exceptional organizational acumen, anticipation of executive needs, and the skill to operate confidently in fast paced, high-stakes environments involving sensitive information.

What Success Looks Like

  • The CISO's time is optimized and focused on the most critical enterprise priorities
  • Executive meetings are well run, prepared, and outcome driven with minimal friction
  • Stakeholders experience timely, professional, and reliable interactions with the ISS executive office
  • Sensitive matters are handled discreetly and appropriately with no surprises
  • The ISS leadership team benefits from increased operational efficiency and clarity

Why This Role Matters

The Administrative Assistant to the CISO is essential to the effectiveness of the Information Security organization. In an environment of heightened regulatory scrutiny, constant threat evolution, and executive decision making, this role ensures the CISO can lead with focus, clarity, and confidence. The position requires trust, maturity, and judgment commensurate with supporting one of the organization's most visible and high impact executive roles.

Key Responsibilities

Executive Support & Enablement

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the CISO, including complex calendar management, travel coordination, expense reporting, and daily schedule prioritization
  • Anticipate needs and proactively manage competing demands on the CISO's time, ensuring focus on the highest value activities
  • Prepare the CISO for meetings by coordinating materials, tracking follow ups, and ensuring readiness for executive level engagements

Stakeholder Coordination & Communication

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for internal and external executive stakeholders, representing the CISO with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment
  • Coordinate communications across ISS leadership, business executives, and enterprise partners to ensure clarity, timeliness, and alignment
  • Manage sensitive and confidential correspondence, information, and materials with the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality

Governance, Meetings & Cadence Management

  • Plan, coordinate, and support executive meetings, including leadership team meetings, governance forums, and ad hoc executive sessions
  • Track action items, decisions, and key deliverables, ensuring follow through and accountability across participants
  • Support preparation for Board, risk committee, audit, and regulatory related meetings by coordinating schedules, materials, and logistics

Operational & Administrative Leadership

  • Help manage the operational routine of the ISS executive office, including recurring deliverables, planning cycles, and leadership cadences
  • Identify opportunities to improve administrative processes, workflows, and tooling to increase efficiency and reduce friction
  • Act as a stabilizing presence during periods of high intensity, incident response, or executive escalation

Trusted Partner to the CISO

  • Exercise independent judgment in handling inquiries, requests, and issues on behalf of the CISO
  • Maintain situational awareness of ISS priorities, key initiatives, and leadership dynamics to provide informed support
  • Uphold the CISO's standards, style, and expectations in all interactions and communications

Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • Typically five or more years of experience in administrative and support staff activities, preferably at the SVP, EVP, or C suite level
  • Commitment to working in U.S. Bank Plaza building in downtown Minneapolis per the location expectations noted below

Preferred Experience & Skills

  • Prior experience supporting a CISO, CIO, CRO, or equivalent risk/technology executive
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity, technology, risk, or regulatory environments
  • Proven to work independently with minimal direction in a fast-moving executive setting
  • Keen situational judgment and diplomacy when navigating competing priorities and executive personalities
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a bias toward proactive problem solving
  • Demonstrated experience operating in large, complex, or highly regulated environments (e.g., financial services, technology, healthcare)
  • Exceptional organizational, time management, and prioritization skills
  • Proven skills in handling sensitive information and matters of discretion with professionalism and confidentiality
  • Effective in not only written and verbal communications but in interacting confidently with senior executives as well
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools (Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Copilot)
