Job Title: On-Farm Mechanic

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and self-starting On-Farm Mechanic to maintain, repair, and service a variety of farm equipment and vehicles. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with various machinery and a strong mechanical aptitude, ensuring all equipment operates efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities

  • Comprehensive Equipment Maintenance: Perform maintenance and repairs on farm equipment, including but not limited to tractors, pickup trucks, side-by-sides, power units, and sprayers.
  • Mechanical Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues across all types of farm machinery, including AC systems and small engines.
  • Welding and Fabrication: Conduct welding and fabrication tasks to repair or modify equipment as needed.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and parts inventory.
  • Safety Adherence: Follow all safety protocols while working with machinery and tools.
  • Collaboration: Work effectively with farm management to prioritize repairs and maintenance based on operational needs.
  • Tool Management: Provide personal tools for repairs, while utilizing shop tools when available.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Proven experience working on a variety of farm equipment and vehicles (minimum 2-3 years preferred).

Skills:

  • Proficient in mechanical systems, electrical systems, and small engine repair.
  • Strong welding and fabrication skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills; bilingual is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs or more.
  • Comfortable working in various weather conditions and environments.
  • Flexible to work extended hours during production season

Additional Requirements

  • Clean Driver’s License: Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Self-Motivated: Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
