The Recovery Mentor position is important to Isaiah House because it provides clients with consistent support, encouragement, and guidance throughout their recovery journey. By serving as a positive role model and using lived experience, this role helps clients build confidence, advocate for themselves, and stay engaged in treatment. Their presence, communication, and crisis support help improve client retention, safety, and the overall client experience.

Additional Information:

  • Schedule: Full-time, Friday - Sunday 8:00am - 8:30pm
  • Work Environment: On-site
  • Travel Requirements: Rarely, if any.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, and move throughout the facility as needed.
  • Ability to monitor client activity and respond quickly in emergencies.
  • Ability to assist with groups, activities, and daily client support.
  • Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or up to 50lbs and supplies.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide consistent emotional, strategic, and recovery-focused support to clients.
  • Serve as a positive role model by acting and speaking with integrity.
  • Assist with one-on-one support, structured activities, client meetings, and advocacy needs.
  • Support client retention, crisis intervention, and overall client engagement.
  • Follow Isaiah House policies, complete required trainings, and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Required Qaulifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must meet APSS certification requirments and must maintain APSS certification, including 6 hours of CEUs annually.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
  • Must complete Isaiah House core competency training and Leadership Academy once instituted.
  • Must adhere to Isaiah House policies, procedures, mandatory in-services, and required trainings.
