Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, your crucial responsibilities will include:

• Conducting thorough mental health assessments to understand the unique needs of elderly clients, identifying specific care requirements and treatment plans.
• Providing individual and group counseling sessions that target emotional challenges related to aging, life transitions, loss, and other mental health issues.
• Leading workshops and training sessions for staff and families focused on strategies to improve the emotional well-being of elderly individuals.
• Offering grief and loss counseling to clients and their families facing end-of-life issues, ensuring they receive the support needed during difficult times.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily serves senior clients dealing with significant life transitions, bereavement, and age-related concerns. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• A Master’s Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or a closely related field.
• Completion of a full-time clinical internship in a recognized mental health facility.
• Eligibility for licensure by the State of Washington.
• A valid driver’s license in good standing to facilitate occasional meetings or training sessions.
• Exceptional communication skills, with a proven ability to build trust and rapport with clients quickly.
• Strong listening abilities paired with empathy, enabling you to guide clients towards effective solutions.
• A keen eye for detail and excellent organizational skills, ensuring effective management of client documentation and care plans.

Preferred Experience

• Demonstrated experience in addiction counseling or addressing substance use disorders.

• A history of working within community health systems or similar settings.

Compensation and Benefits
