About This Role

The Ambulatory Care Nurse will support the coordination, integration, communication, implementation, and evaluation of nursing practice and clinical policies and procedures within the Neurology-Cognitive Division at NYU Langone Health.

What You'll Do
  • Perform physical examinations and diagnostic tests.
  • Collect patient health history.
  • Record information in electronic health record.
  • Provide information, counsel, and education to patients and families regarding test results and treatment plans as directed.
  • Administer medications, provide comprehensive wound care, and perform phone and in-person patient triage for clinical concerns.
  • Assess and monitor patient responses to various treatments, procedures, and anesthesia.
  • Consult with clinical supervisors and licensed providers to determine best treatment plans for patients.
  • Direct, supervise, and delegate to licensed practical nurses, medical assistants, and technicians as needed.
  • Participate in site and organizational quality and performance improvement activities.
  • Collaborate with members of the interdisciplinary team and promote collegial relationships.
Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution required; Associate Degree in Nursing may be approved contingent upon approval from Nursing Leadership.

Experience:

  • Minimum of two years nursing experience in applicable area.

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Current Registered Professional Nurse in New York.
  • Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association.
  • ACLS certification preferred.
