Network Administrator System Engineering Department C-3, Eglin AFB Open Position Request Number R-U-26 CLASSIFICATION: Network Administrator GRADE: Exempt; Regular Full-time LOCATION: Eglin AFB, FL ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Successful candidates will be proficient in administering Local Area Networks (LAN) and possibly Secure Internet Protocol Networks (SIPRNET) equipment such as TACLANES and IPSEC Tunnels. You will implement new network operating systems hardware and software and develop Wide Area Network (WAN) operating procedures. This position will also configure, install, and maintain network systems to include the LAN/WAN. They will maintain an inventory of all network hardware and software and install, configure, and troubleshoot network and application server hardware, network operating system software, and other peripheral network appliances. They will also monitor operation of the LAN/WAN and ensure hardware and network operating software are functioning properly and that operational standards are met. They will provide support for the resolution of complex problems and operating malfunctions. They will perform system backups, and restoration as required. GENERAL DUTIES: * The incumbent will perform daily administration of the network servers and critical network systems. * Advanced troubleshooting and problem solving skills are essential. * Requires the ability to read and interpret written information and effectively communicate verbally and in writing. * Must be able to work a flexible work schedule due to operational support requirements. * Must be able to lift 50 lbs Job Requirements EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Requires CCNA or CCNA Security certification and experience in network administration (mid-senior level experience). A CompTIA Security+ certification is required or must be obtained within 6 months. Experience with Cisco Routers and Switches is mandatory. Demonstrated experience and/or working knowledge of Vlans, interior routing protocols, 802.1X, Cisco ISE, Solarwinds,PaloAlto FW's as well as network management and IP management is desired. Must be able to perform network maintenance as well as research and implement new systems. DoD Information Assurance experience a plus specifically in the areas of IAVA and STIG evaluation, network security, application and management. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a Secret security clearance. Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. All selected candidates must undergo and successfully pass a background investigation and drug test as a condition of placement into this position. Supports E-OMS operational objectives. Observes company Quality, Safety, Environmental, Security and Administrative policies; supports Process Improvement. OTHER DUTIES : Additional duties may be assigned to support contract/mission support requirements in job-related areas. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Duties are normally performed in an office environment. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to lift 50 pounds and sit at a workstation for long periods of time. This position will be subject to substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Must be able to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal.
