Job description

General Purpose

Regional Director of Therapy Services-PACSis responsible fortheoversightof multiplefacility rehabilitation programs, both in-house andcontract therapy providers,andmentoring ofDirectors of Rehabilitation.This includes but is not limitedtotraining new Directors of Rehabilitation, providing recommendations to rehab programs onefficiencies,andoperationsmonitoringto ensure adherence toPACSTherapyBest Practicesand Policies and Proceduresas well as Medicare guidelines and State Practice Acts.The role does notincludeproviding direct patient care or documentation in patient EMRexcept during emergentsituationand with approval of PACS leadership.TheRegional Director of Therapy Servicesis responsible forimplementation ofnew programsand proceduresconsistent withregulatory changes and willinterface withother regional level nursing and administrative professionals.

Essential Duties

  • Visit facilitiesas needed to support operationsand program management
  • Orient and mentorDirectorsof Rehabilitation and staff as necessaryforappropriate patientutilizationand treatmentplans
  • Reviewandmonitorpatient charts and electronic health record systems inNet Health EMR, PCCEMR,andValue Based Care Solutions (Point Right)tofacilitatecompliancewith company policy andMedicare guidelines
  • Attend CSR(Skilled Services Review) facility meetings as well asTripleCheckas neededto guide facilities
  • Monitorfacilitytherapy staffingratiosand therapistdutiesasassignedto ensureadherence to State Board PracticeActs
  • MonitoriQIESViolation Reports for outliersand report to facility and regional team
  • Monitor Value Based Care Solutions (PointRight) for outliersand report to facility and regional team
  • Communicate and reinforceoperationalcompliancebest practices and provide education to region facilities
  • Assistfacilities in achieving survey excellence by taking part in facilitymock surveys as directed by the RVPO,annual state licensing surveys, complaint visits,andassistwith plans of correction as needed
  • Assistwith review and educationlearned fromCMS reports (Pepper, QM, VBP, 5 Star, QRP)
  • Support administratorsand Regional Vice President of Operationsin achieving results
  • Complete operationalreviewsas assignedbyPACSClinicalStrategy and Governance Teamand provide results to RVPO andPACS Clinical Strategy and Governance Team
  • Provide training and educationto facility leadersas assigned by PACS ClinicalStrategy and Governance Teamand the RVPO
  • ReinforcePACS TherapyBest PracticesincludingStandardized Testingand Annual Screens
  • Assistteams with month-end closeout and Triple Check preparation
  • Support and collaborate on regional initiativesas directed by the RVPO and regional team
  • Support facilityinresponding tooutside 3rdparty reviews such asCERTs,ADR's, ALJhearings,UPICdefenseetc.
  • Report toChief Compliance Officerany concerns with compliance, including policies around fraud, waste, and abuse or violations of the PACS Code of Conduct
  • Reportsfacilitytherapyperformancemetricsmonthly (asdeterminedby the PACS Strategy and Governance Team)
  • Assistadministrators with interview and selection process of potential new therapy staff and DOR applicants
  • Supportfacility Administrator with evaluationand performance improvement plans for Directors of Rehab when requested by RVPO or Administrator
  • Assistwithacquisitionstransitionsandconversion of contract programs to in-housetherapyprograms
  • Assist with RNA trainingand certification
  • Assistinoversight and monitoring of therapy consultantsand vendors
  • Assistwithspecial projects as assigned byPACSClinical Strategy and Governance Team
  • Travelby car/plane/or trainwhen necessary to reach assigned destination in a reasonabletime frame
  • Maintainconfidentiality of company and patient information

Supervisory Requirements

At the request of Administrators and RVPOsassistin supervision ofDORs,Staff Therapists, and other therapy regional support staff/consultants

Qualification

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and /or Speech Language Pathologyataminimum.Prefer graduatesof Masters or Doctorate Program in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and /or Speech Language Pathology. Proficient in computer skillsfor Microsoft Office andutilizingsoftware for SharePoint,Net Health,and Point Click Care.Preferpriorregional experience.RequiresRAC-CT Credentialwithin 1 year of hire.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Licensedas a Physical Therapist, OccupationalTherapistand or Speech Language Therapist.Employeemust meetcontinueeducation requirements per state practices. Mustmaintaina license in good standing at alltimewith the state board.CPR certification.

Physical Demands

The essential functions of this position require the following physical abilities:

Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling,crouchingor crawling occasionally. Close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception in vision: ability to adjust focus.
