Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough mental health assessments to identify clients' individual needs and co-occurring disorders, utilizing established evaluation tools and methodologies.
  • Design and implement personalized, evidence-based treatment plans that address the unique goals and challenges of each client, frequently incorporating various therapeutic modalities.
  • Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions focused on addiction recovery, trauma processing, and overall mental health enhancement, adapting therapeutic approaches to suit different client needs.
  • Regularly track and assess client progress, making adjustments to treatment plans when necessary to optimize therapeutic effectiveness.
  • Work in close collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure a comprehensive care approach, sharing insights and strategies for integrated treatment planning.
  • Provide education to clients and families regarding mental health and recovery, fostering awareness and understanding of the therapeutic process.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential health records and documentation to comply with legal, ethical, and organizational standards.
Patient Population / Client Focus

In your role as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, you will engage with a diverse client population, predominantly consisting of individuals struggling with addiction and complex mental health issues. This may include those experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD, and other co-occurring disorders. Your expertise will be instrumental in helping clients navigate their personal recovery journeys and develop sustainable coping strategies.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution is required.
  • Must possess a valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) license in New York.
  • At least three years of relevant experience providing mental health counseling services is essential.
  • Additional certifications or specialized training in areas such as substance use disorders or trauma-informed care are preferred.
Preferred Experience

Applicants with a background in rehabilitation counseling or experience working in outpatient mental health settings will be prioritized. Familiarity with evidence-based practices and innovative therapeutic techniques will enhance your effectiveness in this role.

Compensation and Benefits
