Kitchen Assistant – Part-Time

Illumination Wines is looking for a dependable, positive Kitchen Assistant to join our team! We’re a locally owned wine bar with a small, easy-to-operate kitchen, a great team, and wonderful clientele.

This is a great position for someone who enjoys working with food but wants to avoid the late nights and high-stress environment of a traditional restaurant kitchen.

No fryers, no crazy restaurant hours, and no extensive experience required. We’re happy to train the right person!

Job Duties

• Prepare and assemble menu items according to our recipes and presentation standards
• Complete daily food prep and maintain prep lists
• Assist with charcuterie boards, small plates, sandwiches, flatbreads, and other menu items
• Ensure food is fresh, properly portioned, and beautifully presented
• Keep up with orders and maintain appropriate ticket times
• Stock and organize kitchen ingredients and supplies
• Properly label, date, rotate, and store food
• Help monitor inventory and minimize food waste
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen and prep area
• Wash dishes and kitchen equipment as needed
• Follow food safety and sanitation procedures
• Assist with opening and closing kitchen duties
• Work cooperatively with our front-of-house and back-of-house management

• Team-oriented and willing to jump in where needed
• Previous kitchen or food-service experience is a plus, but not required
