Description
Job Title: MRI Technologist
Reports to: Clinic Manager
Shift Details: PRN, as needed. Weekdays and Weekends
Key Responsibilities:
Imaging & Technical Operations
  • Perform MRI scans on patients according to established protocols and physician orders.
  • Operate and maintain MRI equipment, ensuring optimal image quality and safety standards.
  • Evaluate the quality of obtained images to ensure diagnostic accuracy.
  • Make necessary adjustments to equipment settings to optimize image quality.
  • Perform routine maintenance on MRI equipment and coordinate with appropriate personnel for repairs

Patient Care & Safety
  • Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the imaging process, providing clear instructions and answering any questions.
  • Monitor patients for any adverse reactions and respond promptly to address concerns.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies or adverse reactions during scans, including assisting with patient care as needed.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary.

Patient Communication & Collaboration
  • Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare staff.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals as needed.

Documentation & Records Management
  • Adhere to all regulatory and safety guidelines, including HIPAA, ensuring patient information is handled confidentially and securely
  • Record and maintain accurate patient information, including medical history and scan details, in the electronic health records (EHR) system.

Safety, Compliance & Quality
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and standards.
  • Adhere to regulatory and safety guidelines, including HIPAA, and maintain compliance with all applicable standards and regulations.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities to ensure ongoing adherence to imaging protocols.

Professional Development
  • Stay informed about advancements in MRI technology, attend relevant training, and participate in continuing education to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Certification by ARRT, ARMRIT, or other acceptable MRI Certification
  • BLS certification is required
  • IV Skills required
  • Strong technical skills in operating MRI equipment and ensuring image quality

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to view computer screens for extended periods
  • Lifting. Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires substantial use of upper extremities and back muscles.
  • Reaching. Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
  • Stooping. Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full motion of the lower extremities and back muscles.
  • Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
