Job: Field Superintendent
Location: Lenexa, KS

The Field Superintendent is responsible for supporting the project execution by managing specific areas, trades, or scopes of work, and may oversee broader field operations depending on project size and complexity. This role's key responsibilities include ensuring jobsite safety, maintaining quality standards, coordinating subcontractors, and managing daily site operations. This role also involves accurate documentation of progress, safety incidents, and schedule impacts.
What You'll Do
  • Plan and coordinate construction activities and logistics, including oversight of jobsite operations and support for field engineers and self-perform trade personnel.
  • Communicate with contractors and project team members regarding RFIs, submittals, and other project documentation.
  • Ensure subcontractors fully execute their contracted scopes while complying with all safety, health, and environmental requirements.
  • Manage quality control of materials and installed work.
  • Coordinate and track required inspections with local jurisdictions and special inspectors.
  • Identify and resolve conflicts related to schedule, design, quality, and safety.
  • Maintain an accurate written daily log of jobsite activities, conditions, and progress.
  • Maintain a detailed photo record of work performed and jobsite conditions.
  • Create and distribute weekly look-ahead schedules.
  • Conduct coordination meetings as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field and 3+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • OSHA-30 certification required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to coordinate with trade partners, internal teams, and site leadership.
  • Familiarity with scheduling tools such as pull-planning, Microsoft Project, and short-term look-ahead scheduling.
  • Preferred experience with grading, earthwork, and dirt work operations, including site preparation, cut/fill activities, and soil management best practices.
  • Basic understanding of construction quality control (CQC) processes and standards.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction documents.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam.
  • Demonstrates self-awareness and responds appropriately to feedback.
  • Ability to recognize emotional cues in self and others to maintain effective working relationships.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to climb ladders, scaffolds, and stairs.
  • Comfort working in all weather conditions including heat, cold, precipitation, and wind.
  • Regular use of PPE and safety equipment as required.
  • Exposure to confined spaces and high-noise environments typical of construction sites.
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license and an insurable driving record for company-related travel.
Travel
This position requires full-time travel to and work from job sites.
