Assistant Director of Husky Card Services

About the Opportunity

JOB SUMMARY

Husky Card Services oversees all functions related to the HuskyCard @ Northeastern University's Oakland Campus. The AssistantDirector of Husky Card Services is responsible for managing allaspects of the Husky Card system. This includes systemadministration, coordinating with various departments, and managingdatabases that interact with the system. Key duties include:

  • Ensuring system integrity through report reconciliation andanalysis.
  • Supporting web-based transactions involving the HuskyCard.
  • Training other departments to access and use reportingtools.
  • Overseeing devices connected to the database both on and offcampus.
  • Expanding the use of the Husky Card across differentservices.

This position is critical to ensuring that the systems that providestudents with access to services like meals, housing, computerlabs, fitness centers, and the library are accurately aligned withtheir status. The Assistant Director will also work closely withResidential Security and Technical Support Operations, overseeingthe hiring, training, and mentoring of student workers.

The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PMPST, with flexibility as advised by the Senior Director of HuskyCard Services. Occasional weekend work and coverage on keyuniversity dates are also required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of experience is required
  • Understanding of databases
  • General accounting capabilities
  • Customer service focus
  • Demonstrating the ability to integrate their service deliverywith the rest of the university by sharing their knowledge of thesystems, their perceptions of the challenges and the opportunitiesfor improvement
  • Manages change in a complex environment
  • Good at setting priorities among many competing tasks andprojects
  • Strong communications guidelines and systems
  • Develops new ideas
  • Manages external and internal relationships
  • Strong marketing presence and identity
  • Addresses immediate needs of student while understanding thelong term implications to services and programs given what issuesare repeatedly presented; builds relationships withstudents
  • Manages expenses wisely; utilizes effective internal budgetprocess to manage costs
  • Regularly sets long and short-term goals and develops actionplans
  • Determines the processes necessary to get things done;organizes people and activities well; sees opportunities forsynergy and integration; can simplify complex processes.
