Key Responsibilities

As a Mental Health Counselor at Humanist Self Recovery Clinic, you will:

  • Conduct individual and group therapy sessions tailored to the specific needs of clients, utilizing cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness techniques, and other evidence-based modalities.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans that align with clients’ goals, regularly monitor progress, and adjust interventions as necessary.
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including psychiatrists and primary care physicians, to provide coordinated care for clients with complex needs.
  • Facilitate case management support, connecting clients and their families with necessary resources and community services to enhance their treatment and recovery.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development through team meetings, supervision, and training to enhance clinical skills and stay updated on best practices.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with adults, including older adults, who may experience a range of mental health challenges, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and adjustment disorders. Our clinic emphasizes trauma-informed care, ensuring that all interactions are sensitive to the experiences of our clients, fostering a safe and supportive environment for healing.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling or a related field.
  • A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) license in Washington State.
  • Strong diagnostic skills and the ability to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, the following are highly desirable:

  • Experience working with older adults or in geriatric mental health.
  • Familiarity with telehealth technologies and virtual counseling practices.
  • Previous involvement in multidisciplinary collaboration and case management.
