The Opportunity: We are seeking a qualified Resource Geologist to work with our Lalor Mine Geology team in the vibrant community of Snow Lake, MB. Lalor Mine is a high-grade, producing underground mine located near Snow Lake, MB. It is a major, long-life operation primarily producing Zinc, Gold, Copper, with ore processed at the nearby Stall Concentrator and New Britannia Gold Mill.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads by example to continue a strong safety culture. Follow the departmental safety programs established by the department and health and safety.
  • Geological Resource wireframing, block modeling, and statistical analysis
  • Resource estimation and classification
  • MRMR Documentation
  • Monitors daily production, recovery, and dilution
  • Support to Diamond Drill team and contributes to Mid/Short Range Geology
  • Participates in daily, weekly and monthly meetings in order to establish and follow priorities
  • Provide support to production and logging geologists to ensure geological mapping, sampling, grade control and core logging is accurate and available for planning and evaluation
  • Provide training, mentoring, coaching and skills development for geologists and technicians to ensure best practices are followed.

Qualifications:

  •  Bachelor of Science degree in Geological Sciences or Geological Engineering
  •  Professional Designation, P. Geo or P. Eng
  •  Experienced with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  •  Experience an asset with modeling and database software such as: MineSight, Deswick, AcQuire, Leapfrog
  •  Class 5 Drivers Licence
  •  Experience in mining, minimum 10 years in an underground mining environment
  •  Experience in gold mining is an asset

Schedule:

The successful applicant will have the choice between a Fly-In-Fly-Out/Drive-In-Drive-Out or opt for relocation. A fully equipped camp is available to employees or relocation packages are available for those who wish to relocate.

Compensation/Benefits:

  • Pay Range: $108,504 - 120,560 per year
