Role Description The Transportation Operations Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Caledonia, WI. This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day transportation operations, including scheduling and dispatching, load planning, routing, and ensuring timely, cost-effective delivery of freight. The Transportation Operations Manager will monitor fleet performance, address service issues, coordinate with drivers and internal teams, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. The role includes analyzing operational data, optimizing processes, managing vendor and carrier relationships, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The Transportation Operations Manager will also collaborate closely with customer service and sales teams to address customer needs, resolve escalations, and maintain a high level of service quality.

Qualifications

  • Strong expertise in Transportation Flatbed Operations and Transportation Management, with experience overseeing daily fleet or carrier activities.
  • Demonstrated skills in Operations Management and process optimization within a logistics or transportation environment.
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain Management principles, including load planning, routing, and cost control.
  • Proven Customer Service skills, with the ability to manage escalations and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Experience with transportation management systems (TMS), routing software, and basic data/reporting tools.
  • Familiarity with DOT regulations, safety standards, and compliance requirements for transportation operations.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team collaboration skills, with the ability to coordinate across departments.
  • Ability to work on-site full time in Caledonia, WI, manage multiple priorities, and make timely operational decisions.
  • Preferred: Prior supervisory experience in trucking, logistics, or freight operations; associate or bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field is a plus.
