Position Overview

Horizons Counseling, LLC is seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our dedicated team. This full-time remote position allows you to deliver personalized mental health care to clients across San Diego, California. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, you will assess, plan, and implement evidence-based therapeutic approaches to help individuals navigate their mental health challenges.

Work Environment

This position is 100% remote, allowing you to work from the comfort of your home while maintaining a strong connection with our supportive team. Our outpatient office setting ensures that you have the resources and technology needed to provide comprehensive care. Work hours are Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, accommodating a balance of professional and personal commitments.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and screenings to evaluate clients' mental health status and establish individualized treatment plans.
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions using evidence-based methodologies tailored to the specific needs of clients.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists and case managers, ensuring an integrated approach to client care that enhances therapeutic outcomes.
• Educate and empower clients' families to actively participate in the recovery journey, providing resources for better understanding mental health issues.
• Maintain meticulous and confidential records in alignment with regulatory standards and ethical guidelines, ensuring security and accuracy of sensitive information.

Patient Population / Client Focus

At Horizons Counseling, we serve a diverse client base, including individuals with varying backgrounds and mental health challenges, from anxiety to depression, trauma, and more. Qualifications

• A Master's Degree or Doctorate in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Counseling, or Psychology.
• A valid state-issued license as an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW.
• Demonstrated expertise in mental health counseling with a focus on delivering compassionate care.
• Strong ability to establish rapport and motivate clients during their therapeutic journey.
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems to manage client documentation efficiently.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of two years of relevant experience in mental health counseling.
• Experience working with diverse populations and addressing a range of mental health issues.
• Familiarity with group therapy techniques and facilitation.

Compensation and Benefits
