Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments and screenings to evaluate the mental health needs of patients, utilizing evidence-based tools to develop effective treatment plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Provide short-term individual counseling and crisis intervention services, utilizing evidence-based brief therapy models to address patients' immediate concerns and emotional challenges.
  • Facilitate engaging therapy groups and workshops that support personal development and address various topics pertinent to patient well-being, such as coping strategies, stress management, and relationship skills.
  • Collaborate with hospital departments, including medical teams and community organizations, to ensure comprehensive patient care and support in the transition from care to recovery.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development initiatives to stay abreast of industry best practices and integrate new methodologies into your counseling approach.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our counseling center serves a diverse population, focusing on individuals who are navigating significant life transitions, mental health disorders, or crises. As a Mental Health Counselor, you will work with patients of varying ages and backgrounds, addressing symptoms that may include anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. Your understanding of the unique challenges faced by these patients is vital in creating effective therapeutic interventions.

Qualifications
  • Active state license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) is required.
  • A master’s or doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Demonstrated understanding of mental health issues, particularly those prevalent among hospital patients.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills essential for developing strong rapport with patients and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices and the ability to implement brief therapy models suitable for a hospital counseling environment.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in a healthcare setting, particularly within a hospital or clinical environment.

Compensation and Benefits
