Responsibilities

• Assist occupational therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for patients.
• Provide direct patient care, focusing on activities of daily living (ADLs) to enhance functional independence.
• Monitor patient progress and document outcomes, ensuring compliance with care plans.
• Educate patients and families on therapeutic techniques and home health strategies.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams in various settings, including acute care, skilled nursing facilities, and outpatient clinics.
• Maintain knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology to support effective therapy practices.
• COTAs/OTAs can perform as many visits as they want with a flexible schedule.
• COTAs/OTAs will work directly with an experienced OTR and report regularly
• COTAs/OTAs will be responsible for carrying out the plan of care assigned by the OTR and documenting patient progress

Qualifications

• Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA/L) license required
• Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology
• Experience with activities of daily living (ADLs) and care plans
• Familiarity with home health, acute care, and skilled nursing facilities
• Ability to provide patient care in outpatient and inpatient settings
• Experience working with diverse populations, including geriatrics and pediatrics
