Job description

Description:

About Home Companions

At Home Companions, our purpose is simple and deeply personal: to bring joy, companionship, and a sense of self-worth to the aging population — empowering seniors to stay at home and continue to live life where they feel most comfortable. We believe that growing older shouldn't mean giving up independence. Rather than taking it away, we enhance it. Every single day, our caregivers make a real difference in real people's lives.

We are a small, local company rooted right here in Eau Claire, WI — and that means something to us. We know our clients by name, we know their stories, and we show up for them with genuine heart. If you share that passion for caring for others, you'll fit right in here.

Why Work With Us — Benefits & Perks

We take care of the people who take care of others. Here's what we offer our team:

  • Flexible scheduling with short shift options — work around YOUR life, not the other way around
  • Focus on work-life balance — we mean it
  • Incentive & rewards program — your hard work gets recognized
  • Paid orientation and paid training — you're compensated from day one
  • Mileage reimbursement
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Professional development assistance
  • Referral program — bring great people, get rewarded
  • Career advancement opportunities in a growing, sustainable industry
  • Supportive, unified team culture — you'll never feel like you're on your own

What We're Looking For — Qualifications We welcome applicants from all backgrounds. Here's what helps you stand out:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, knowledge of PC's, and mobile apps used for scheduling and documentation.
  • Able to take direction with positive attitude and focus on client wellbeing.
  • Previous experience as a caregiver, home health aide, or in a similar role preferred (1 year preferred — but not required)
  • Basic housekeeping and cooking skills
  • Ability to adhere to health and safety guidelines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift heavy objects as needed
  • Compassionate, respectful, and ethical in all interactions
  • Valid driver's license (required)
  • Valid automobile insurance (required)
  • Willing to drive up to 45 min from the office. (mileage paid)
  • Available to be on call every other weekend

Personality Matters Most

We hire for personality first. Skills can be taught — heart cannot. We're looking for someone who is loyal, fun, loving, warm, and caring: someone who genuinely loves working with the elderly and lights up when they walk through a client's door. If that sounds like you, we want to hear from you.

Ready to Make a Difference?

If you have a genuine love for people and a desire to do work that truly matters, we'd love to connect. At Home Companions, you're not just filling a shift — you're changing someone's day, and sometimes their whole life. That's worth showing up for.

Requirements:

  • Run errands.
