Hitachi Energy is seeking a FACTS HMI/SCADA Network Engineer to join our growing Power Quality Solutions team. As a global pioneer in Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS), we deliver cutting‑edge technologies that help utilities and industries improve the reliability, stability, and efficiency of power grids worldwide.

In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, testing, and deployment of advanced Human Machine Interface (HMI), SCADA, and industrial network solutions supporting some of the world's most complex power system projects. You will work alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams, customers, and industry experts to deliver innovative control and monitoring systems that power critical infrastructure. Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys combining software applications, industrial networking, power system automation, and customer‑facing engineering. You'll have the opportunity to work with industry‑leading technologies, support commissioning activities across North America, and help drive the continued evolution of Hitachi Energy's MACH control platform and Station Operating and Monitoring Systems. • Develop secure industrial network architectures for SCADA and HMI systems.

  • Assess customer network requirements and translate technical specifications into project solutions.

  • Collaborate with multiple engineering disciplines, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.

  • Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), commissioning, and startup activities.

  • Evaluate and strengthen cybersecurity measures for control system networks and communications.

  • Manage project deliverables including schedules, documentation, technical reviews, risk management, and change management.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives while supporting key project performance metrics such as quality, cost, and on‑time delivery.

Your background
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Science, Power Systems, Power Electronics, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in HMI, SCADA, industrial automation, networking, or related engineering environments.

  • Experience with MicroSCADA, Zenon (COPA‑DATA), InTouch, or equivalent HMI/SCADA platforms.

  • Strong knowledge of industrial networking and communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Modbus, TCP/IP, IEC 61850, and related technologies.

  • Understanding of power grid automation, process automation, network security, and cybersecurity principles.

  • Professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, SCADA/HMI certifications, CompTIA Security+, or other cybersecurity credentials are advantageous.

What We Offer
  • Comprehensive Health Coverage – Medical, dental, vision, and prescription plans

  • Retirement Savings – 401(k) with company match and additional contributions

  • Paid Time Off – Flexible PTO, paid holidays

  • Professional Growth – Tuition reimbursement and continuous learning programs

  • Family Support – Parental leave, adoption assistance, and fertility benefits
