ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Represent the Hissho Sushi brand by engaging Schnucks customers in a friendly, professional, and approachable manner.
• Set up, maintain, and break down sampling stations according to food safety and brand standards.
• Offer sushi samples and explain product features, ingredients, flavors, freshness, and quality points.
• Encourage product trial and help convert sampling interactions into purchases.
• Promote featured rolls, new items, limited-time offers, and core assortment items.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and attractive sampling area throughout the shift.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, glove-use, temperature control, and allergen awareness procedures.
• Build positive relationships with Schnucks store teams and department managers.
• Track basic sampling activity, customer feedback, product interest, and notable sales observations.
• Represent the Hissho Sushi brand with professionalism, enthusiasm, and consistency while always maintaining a polished appearance.
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS:
• Previous experience in customer service, food sampling, retail, hospitality, food service, or brand promotion preferred.
• Comfortable approaching customers and initiating conversations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Professional appearance and positive attitude.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a retail grocery environment.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices preferred.
• Must be able to follow sampling procedures and brand guidelines.
Reliable transportation from The Hill Food Hall to assigned Schnucks locations is required.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds as needed.
• Ability to set up and break down sampling materials.
• Ability to work in refrigerated grocery areas and around food preparation/display cases.
Schedule
• Part-time schedule based on store needs, promotional calendar, and high-traffic shopping periods.
• Availability on weekends, lunch periods, and early evening hours is preferred.

• Typical sampling events may range from 1 to 3 hours each, depending on store traffic and promotional needs, with multiple events per shift.
