Job description

Service Director – Automotive Dealership

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Service Director to lead and manage the operations of our Service Department. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, process management, and customer service skills to ensure an exceptional service experience. Toyota experience is a significant advantage but not required.

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the Service Department to ensure efficiency and profitability

  • Lead, coach, and develop service staff including service advisors, technicians, and support personnel

  • Monitor and manage departmental performance metrics, including customer satisfaction, repair cycle time, and profitability

  • Ensure compliance with all dealership, manufacturer, and safety standards

  • Work collaboratively with Parts and Sales Departments to ensure smooth operational flow

  • Handle customer concerns and resolve service issues with professionalism and urgency

  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels and participate in hiring, training, and performance evaluations

  • Review and approve repair orders and warranty claims as needed

  • Analyze service reports and adjust operations to achieve strategic objectives

Requirements

  • Proven experience managing a high-volume automotive service department

  • Exceptional leadership and team-building skills

  • Strong organizational and decision-making ability

  • Ability to interpret and apply manufacturer policies and dealership procedures

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

  • Toyota dealership experience is strongly preferred but not mandatory

Education and/or Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required; post-secondary education in business or automotive technology is a plus

  • Minimum 5 years of service management experience in an automotive dealership environment
