Job description

TelevisaUnivision Dallas is looking for a Community Empowerment Manager to join our team!
The Manager of Community Empowerment will lead station efforts to build and maintain current key relationships with community leaders, nonprofit organizations, political leaders, and the business community to cultivate increased awareness and presence of the station and the population that we serve. This individual will collaborate internally with station and corporate leadership to understand business objectives to guide the development and execution of key community empowerment campaigns. Responsibilities include FCC station's license renewal process, EEO activities and reporting.
YOUR DAY-DAY:
  • Represent the station to community groups, local schools, non-profit agencies, etc. Work weekends and evenings, as needed, to attend company-sponsored events, collegiate and local job fairs, and additional business networking socials.
  • Establish partnership with key members of sales team to cultivate non-traditional sources of revenue and collaborate on strategies that impact business development initiatives.
  • Identify events that provide branding opportunities for the station and drive engagement with key demographics for local market. (Events, parades, festivals, health fairs, community forums, etc.).
  • Collaborate with the digital media team on all forms of communication including social media content and strategy to promote campaign goals and grow our streaming platforms
  • Work closely with internal department teams to increase collaborative opportunities related to community and TU empowerment initiatives.
  • Manage all compliance request related to TU Local Media.
  • Evaluate current station campaigns and develop new campaigns as needed.
  • Work with grants as needed that will benefit our station
  • Produce public service announcements (PSAs) and vignettes that are part of the station campaign efforts. Monitor airtime for PSAs. Coordinates placements of PSAs with Traffic Hub.
  • Schedule and coordinate Phone Banks to review and address local community concerns.
  • Support the localization of DE&I efforts.
  • Maintains the station's Public File; prepares and submits EEO, License and Renewal reports required by FCC Compliance
  • Drafts and/or reviews local press releases, scripts for speeches, local media requests and distribute as needed.
  • Answer inquiries from the public and provides information concerning local organizations.
  • Assist the Sr Producer with the morning show and various projects and/or special events.
  • Produces and create community projects that give the station exposure and revenue.
  • Expands Political outreach and working together with Al Punto production team
  • Creates and Produces weekly Contigo en la Communidad.

YOU HAVE:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, or related fields, and at least 3 years of experience in public relations, community affairs, management, marketing and/or promotions preferred.
  • Bilingual - fluent speaker in English and Spanish
  • Experience developing written content for on-air, and digital platforms as well as (press releases, fact sheets, overall messaging, etc.) and verbal communication in both English and Spanish language.
  • Knowledge of Media Production and Digital Content preferred.
  • Strong experience interacting with Hispanic community groups and leaders and knowledge of Hispanic dynamics across the country
