Job description

Dixieland Veterinary Services
Bonifay, FL
Is growing steadily – Looking for a dedicated
Licensed Veterinary Technician
IMPORTANT:
  • Full-time, on-site role at an established small-animal practice in the rural Florida panhandle, equipped with Idexx in-house lab machines, digital radiology with consultations, in-house ultrasound, and cold therapy laser.
  • Tech-driven clinic that actively encourages training and education. You’ll run your own rooms, see patients, and help train other staff — not just assist.
Offered salary and other compensation:
Depending on your experience, we offer an hourly rate of $18 to $20. We also offer:
  • Uniform allowance
  • Simple IRA
  • Paid vacation and PTO
  • Performance bonuses
  • Licensing fees paid by the clinic
About our practice:
Dixieland Veterinary Services is an established and growing small-animal practice in the rural Florida panhandle. Founded in 2007 by an Auburn College of Veterinary Medicine graduate and currently owned by another Auburn alum, we pride ourselves on great customer service and the best medical care we can provide.
Our team handles soft-tissue, spay/neuter, dental, and emergency surgeries, supported by Idexx in-house lab equipment, Idexx reference lab services, digital radiology with consultations on every set taken, in-house ultrasound, and cold therapy laser. Though we’re rural, we’re only an hour from Panama City Beach, FL, Dothan, AL, and Enterprise, AL.
Why you should join our group:
Our team works well together and the overall tone is upbeat. We’re a tech and assistant-driven clinic that invests in our people — one of our assistants has already started tech school. We plan to bring on another doctor in the next two years to expand into mixed-animal medicine, and the area itself is growing as more people move to the panhandle. There is real room to grow here, both for the practice and for the right teammate.
Our Location: 903 N. Oklahoma St., Bonifay, FL 32425
Your schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Our website: www.Dixielandvet.com
Your mission & responsibilities as Licensed Veterinary Technician:
Take pressure off our veterinarian and help us deliver an even higher quality of medicine. You’ll assist the DVM when needed, but you’ll also run your own rooms and see patients independently — helping us live up to our mission of treating every client’s pet as we would our own.
Some of your duties and responsibilities are:
  • See recheck appointments and run your own exam rooms
  • Work with emergency and hospitalized patients
  • Perform dental cleanings
  • Assist the veterinarian during procedures as needed
  • Educate clients clearly and confidently on their pets’ care
  • Help train current and future staff members
  • Operate Idexx in-house lab machines, digital radiology, ultrasound, and cold therapy laser equipment
  • Contribute to a friendly, efficient team known for excellent client service
Required experience and qualifications:
  • Completion of an accredited Veterinary Technician training program
  • Passed the VTNE (Veterinary Technician National Examination)
  • Active license to practice as a Veterinary Technician in the State of Florida
Preferred soft skills and personality traits:
  • Outgoing, friendly, and cheerful — clients and pets feel at ease around you
  • Strong multitasker who stays composed in a busy clinical environment
  • Willing and able to teach — both fellow staff and pet owners
  • Clear, empathetic communicator with clients and team members
  • Self-motivated, responsible, and a strong team player
  • Genuine love for animals and a commitment to treating every pet as your own
