The Dairy Products Sales Coordinator is responsible for maximizing sales and profitability of dairy co-products, including feed-grade liquid whey, permeate, and cheese waste. These products play a critical role in maintaining plant operations and maximizing the value of milk sourced from farms.

This role reports to the Dairy Sales Manager and collaborates closely with the Manufacturing, Quality, and Finance teams. Externally, the coordinator works with local farms, haulers, and customers to identify outlets for Hilmar’s co-products, ensuring maximum value is realized from the milk we purchase.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers, haulers and dairies.
• Understand market data/conditions to formulate sales strategy for improved value and total margin.
• Develop and maintain subject-matter expertise on designated categories to respond to both internal needs and external market trends.
• Serve as a project leader and unify various departments to achieve common goals for strategic development of the dairy products business.
• Manage and direct customer allocations for sales and negotiate sales contracts in the best interest of the business over the short, medium and long term.
• Visit customers to provide sales service, to expand sales volume and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Provide and share sales and market information on a timely basis to Manufacturing and S&OP for planning purposes.
• Interact with other key departments to ensure successful support of sales efforts.
• Lead the development of new sales as necessary to support expansion to new markets.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Agriculture, or a related field, or five years of related experience.
• Highly developed interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to demonstrate exceptional integrity, ethics, and the ability to earn customer/team members’ trust.
• Knowledge of production operations management of dairy products/commodities.
• Experience developing strong internal and external business relationships.
• Demonstrate the ability to analyze industry dynamics, suppliers, customers, and marketplace trends.
• Commercially astute.

• Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years’ related experience or Master’s degree plus 1 year related experience.
• Animal feed market knowledge

The role has periods of time when the work environment is sedentary and conducted in an office environment balanced with frequent occasions that require prolonged walking or standing, lifting/ carrying/handling moderate weight objects on a regular basis. Is required to wear PPE and have a regular presence in manufacturing and warehouse environments in both temperature controlled and uncontrolled locations. Must frequently interact with people verbally. Specific details of the essential functions of the position is available in the Job Safety Analysis, made available on request.
