Work Environment

This position is fully remote, allowing for flexibility while engaging with clients in an outpatient setting. As a mental health therapist at Hillside Mindscape Counseling Center, you will enjoy the work-life balance necessary to provide the highest level of care. Our normal work schedule operates Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 4 PM, with some flexibility required based on the needs of our diverse patient population.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments incorporating best practices and solution-focused interventions to create individualized treatment plans that reflect each client's unique needs.
  • Utilize therapeutic techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to guide clients through their psychological challenges effectively.
  • Maintain meticulous and confidential clinical records compliant with HIPAA and other legal standards, ensuring each patient's privacy and data security.
  • Engage actively with a multidisciplinary treatment team that includes psychiatrists and psychologists to coordinate care and discuss treatment strategies effectively.
  • Participate in regular peer consultations and case reviews which aim to enhance treatment outcomes and promote continuous learning.
  • Provide education for patients and their families regarding mental health conditions and available community resources, empowering them to make informed decisions.
  • Commit to ongoing professional development by staying current with advancements in mental health treatment methodologies and research.
Patient Population / Client Focus

As a mental health therapist at Hillside Mindscape Counseling Center, you will work primarily with adult clients experiencing a range of mental health issues including, but not limited to, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, trauma-related conditions, and relationship challenges. Our client population is diverse, reflecting the rich cultural fabric of California, requiring you to be culturally competent and adaptable in your therapeutic techniques.

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • An active license to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in California.
  • Demonstrated understanding of solution-based psychotherapy techniques and requisite therapeutic skills necessary to tailor care effectively to each client.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities that foster trust and rapport with clients and colleagues.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking capabilities to navigate complex issues and adapt treatment plans as needed.
  • A collaborative spirit that contributes positively to team dynamics while promoting a supportive and constructive work environment.
Preferred Experience
  • Prior experience working in outpatient settings or specialty practices focused on mental health.
  • Proficiency in integrating technology within therapy sessions, including teletherapy and digital documentation tools.
  • Experience with various therapeutic modalities to better address the needs of a broad patient demographic.
  • Knowledge of community resources and support systems to facilitate patient referrals and support.
