Title: Quality Assurance Technician
Department: Quality Control
Reports To: Laboratory Manager
Classification: Nonexempt
Introduction Period: Up to 90 days
Wage: 19.00 - 21.00 /hr.
Position Summary:
Responsible for performing quality checks on finished products prior to shipping, manufacturing and product lines. Develop internal specifications for finished products, raw materials, and packaging components.
Essential Functions:
  • Evaluates quality of finished products prior to shipping.
  • Collects appropriate retained samples and maintains retained storage area.
  • Verifies cleanliness and suitability of manufacturing and packaging lines.
  • Analyzes materials prior to incorporation into products.
  • Review labels for accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist with Document Management.
  • Audit Records.
  • Maintains a safety conscious attitude.
  • Maintain excellent attendance.

Qualifications:
  • Two years of experience working in a food manufacturing or other manufacturing facilities.
  • Familiarity with State of Oregon Food Handling regulations.
  • Familiarity with laboratory analytical equipment.
  • Working understanding of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
  • Possess effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical personnel within team management environment.
  • Ability to negotiate with outside vendors.
  • Experience with personal computers (spreadsheet, Word, E-mail) and other PC or server applications.
  • Requires ability to take and follow directions, time management skills, organizational development, and improvement.
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills required to perform the essential job functions listed on this job description.
