Job description

Guest Experience Ambassador
Hidden Valley Orchards Lebanon, Ohio
Hidden Valley Orchards is seeking three energetic and outgoing Guest Experience Ambassadors to help guests discover everything our farm has to offer. This highly visible position combines hospitality, product sampling, storytelling, and sales support.
Guest Experience Ambassadors will serve as chief communicators of the Hidden Valley Orchards brand, sharing information about our farm, history, products, events, food, beverages, and seasonal activities. They will operate sampling stations, engage guests throughout the property, collect reviews and feedback, and help increase sales across our retail and food-and-beverage operations.
This seasonal role is ideal for someone who enjoys talking with people, confidently recommending products, and turning an ordinary farm visit into a memorable experience.
Responsibilities
  • Operate engaging and well-organized product sampling stations.
  • Introduce guests to farm-made and locally sourced products.
  • Explain product ingredients, preparation methods, uses, and farm connections.
  • Recommend retail, bakery, food, and beverage products based on guest interests.
  • Share information about the farm's history, culture, attractions, events, and seasonal offerings.
  • Encourage satisfied guests to leave online reviews and provide feedback.
  • Direct guests to different areas of the farm and help them plan their visit.
  • Support promotions, product launches, special events, and high-traffic weekends.
  • Maintain clean, attractive, fully stocked sampling and promotional areas.
  • Track samples distributed, products sold, reviews collected, and guest feedback.
  • Communicate common questions, product reactions, and sales opportunities to management.
  • Assist retail and food-and-beverage teams during busy periods when needed.
  • Follow all food-safety, sanitation, and accident-prevention procedures.
Measures of Success
Guest Experience Ambassadors will be evaluated based on:
  • Sales and product movement associated with sampling and recommendations.
  • Guest reviews and feedback collected.
  • Quality and quantity of guest interactions.
  • Knowledge of Hidden Valley Orchards' products, history, and activities.
  • Cleanliness, organization, and presentation of sampling areas.
  • Reliability, initiative, and consistent weekend availability.
  • Contribution to a welcoming and memorable guest experience.
Experience and Qualifications
  • Experience in hospitality, sampling, retail sales, food service, promotions, or customer service is preferred.
  • Friendly, confident, and comfortable approaching and speaking with guests.
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills.
  • Enthusiasm for local food, agriculture, farm products, and seasonal experiences.
  • Ability to learn detailed product and farm information.
  • Comfortable making recommendations and helping drive sales.
  • Able to work independently while collaborating with multiple farm departments.
  • Dependable and able to maintain a positive attitude during busy visitor days.

Requirements
Key Competencies
  • Hospitality: Genuinely enjoys helping people and creating positive experiences.
  • Communication: Clearly and enthusiastically explains products, activities, and farm information.
  • Initiative: Proactively approaches guests and identifies opportunities to improve their visit.
  • Composure: Remains friendly, organized, and professional during busy or unexpected situations.
  • Adaptability: Can shift between sampling, guest assistance, promotions, and operational support.
  • Sales Orientation: Understands how product knowledge, recommendations, and sampling can increase sales without creating a high-pressure experience.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and move throughout the farm for extended periods.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in changing seasonal conditions.
  • Regular bending, reaching, carrying, and setting up sampling materials.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
  • Sufficient hearing and vision to communicate with guests, monitor sampling areas, and read product information.

Schedule
  • Consistent Friday, Saturday, and Sunday availability is required.
  • Seasonal and weekend-focused position.
  • Additional hours may be available during holidays, festivals, and special events.

Benefits
  • Compensation: $20-$30 per hour, based on experience, availability, and demonstrated ability to engage guests and support sales.
