Richmond Post Acute is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and resident-focused
Smoking Aide to join our team. This role is responsible for safely supervising resident smoking breaks while ensuring compliance with facility policies and maintaining a safe, respectful environment for all residents.

Responsibilities
- Escort residents to and from designated smoking areas according to the facility's smoking schedule.
- Supervise residents during smoking breaks to ensure safety and compliance with facility policies.
- Monitor residents for signs of distress or medical concerns and promptly report any changes to nursing staff.
- Ensure proper use and safe disposal of smoking materials.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free smoking area.
- Follow all fire safety procedures and infection control guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with nursing staff regarding resident needs, concerns, or incidents.
- Treat all residents with dignity, respect, and compassion.
- Assist with light resident support tasks as directed when not supervising smoking breaks.
- Perform other CNA duties as assigned
Qualifications
- VA CNA Certification is required
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in a healthcare, long-term care, or customer service setting is a plus but not required.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining close attention to resident safety.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow established schedules.
- Ability to push wheelchairs and assist residents with mobility as needed.
- Must successfully complete all required background checks and pre-employment screenings.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to push wheelchairs and assist with resident transportation.
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
