Henry North is proud to partner with a well-established, privately held material handling equipment dealership with multiple branches across the Pacific Northwest. This client serves manufacturing, distribution, warehousing, and logistics customers through equipment sales, service, parts, and fleet support.

As a result of a planned leadership transition, they are seeking an experienced service professional ready to step into a formal leadership role at their Auburn, WA branch.

The Opportunity

The Assistant Service Manager will work alongside a seasoned service veteran and take on increasing responsibility for day-to-day service department leadership. This role is designed as a deliberate succession plan — the right candidate will grow into the Service Manager role and, over time, have a clear path toward Branch Manager.

If you have hands-on technical experience, have led technicians in a formal or informal capacity, and are ready to make the move from the shop floor into a leadership seat, this is a compelling next step.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Service Manager in leading daily branch service operations, scheduling, and workflow management
• Provide direct leadership and coaching to service technicians and shop staff
• Serve as a technical resource and escalation point for complex service and repair issues
• Monitor department performance metrics and identify opportunities for operational improvement
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders
• Ensure high standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction across the service department
• Develop leadership capabilities in preparation for advancement into the Service Manager role

What We're Looking For

• 5–10 years of hands-on experience in forklift, heavy equipment, automotive, fleet, or related service environments
• Demonstrated people leadership experience — shop foreman, lead technician, or similar roles considered
• Strong technical aptitude with the credibility that comes from time in the field
• Effective communicator who can work comfortably with technicians, customers, and branch leadership
• Highly organized, accountable, and self-motivated
• Valid driver's license required
• Candidates should be located within approximately 25 miles of Auburn, WA

Compensation

• Base Salary: $100,000 – $110,000 + Monthly Bonus
• OTE: ~$110,000-$120,000

Additional Information

• Benefits: Medical/Rx coverage begins within 60–90 days of employment; company-paid life insurance ($15,000 AD&D) included at no cost
• 401(k): 3% Safe Harbor contribution paid by the company (not a match); eligible after 90 days
• Time Off: 8 paid holidays (no waiting period) + vacation accrual starting at 6 months
