We're Hiring! Deputy County Administrator — Henry County, Virginia
Henry County is looking for a strategic, steady leader to help guide the operations that keep our community running and growing. As Deputy County Administrator, you won't just support leadership — you'll help define it.
Set in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Henry County offers small-town warmth with big-picture opportunity — from the shores of Philpott Lake to the roar of Martinsville Speedway. It's a community rooted in heritage, driven by growth, and shaped by the people who serve it.
This is more than an opportunity to influence the county's growth, resilience, and quality of life. As a key member of the leadership team, the Deputy County Administrator plays an integral role in directing and coordinating the delivery of county and Public Service Authority (PSA) services. The ideal candidate should be knowledgeable in public administration principles and practices, including budgeting and finance, personnel, procurement and contracting, productivity improvement, policy development, and intergovernmental relations.
As Deputy County Administrator, you will build and maintain effective working relationships with elected officials, community partners, and neighboring agencies, representing Henry County with credibility and trust. In your role as Assistant General Manager of the Public Service Authority, you will help manage rates-supported utility services and ensure they keep pace with the county’s growth.
