Manager - Fund Accounting - Private Equity - Dallas - Hybrid

The Private Equity Fund Accounting team partners with some of the industry's most sophisticated investment managers, providing end-to-end accounting and fund administration services for complex investment structures. The business continues to invest heavily in technology, process improvement, and employee development, offering strong long-term career progression.


Responsibilities


As a Manager within the Private Equity Fund Accounting team, you will:


  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Fund Accountants and Supervisors.
  • Manage multiple client relationships and oversee day-to-day service delivery.
  • Review and maintain general ledgers and supporting accounting records.
  • Review financial statements, capital account statements, and supporting workpapers.
  • Oversee investor allocations and fund-level accounting activities.
  • Review capital calls, distributions, transfers, and other investor transactions.
  • Review management fee, carried interest, waterfall, and other complex fee calculations.
  • Ensure deliverables are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
  • Serve as the primary contact for senior client stakeholders.
  • Provide technical accounting guidance on private equity fund structures.
  • Support new fund launches, client onboardings, and operational transitions.
  • Partner with internal groups including operations, financial reporting, tax, and investor services.
  • Coordinate annual audits and liaise with external auditors.
  • Review partnership agreements, offering documents, and other governing fund documentation.
  • Assist with implementing and maintaining fund structures within the accounting platform.
  • Complete ad hoc projects and process improvement initiatives as required.


Qualifications


We're looking for candidates with:


  • 5+ years of private equity fund accounting experience.
  • Previous experience leading and developing accounting teams.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and alternative investment fund accounting.
  • Experience with capital activity, financial reporting, and investor allocations.
  • Familiarity with waterfall and carried interest calculations is preferred.
  • Experience reviewing financial statements and general ledger activity.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with private equity fund accounting systems (such as Investran or similar platforms) is a plus.
