Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to evaluate individual mental health needs effectively.
  • Design and implement tailored therapeutic strategies for clients, utilizing a variety of evidence-based treatments such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), psychodynamic therapy, and solution-focused approaches.
  • Engage with clients through individual, group, and family therapy sessions, ensuring an open and supportive atmosphere for sharing and growth.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and client records in compliance with legal standards and ethical guidelines.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create comprehensive treatment plans and holistic care strategies for clients.
  • Participate in ongoing training, workshops, and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and keep abreast of trends and research in the mental health field.
Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily be working with individuals and families who face various mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, substance abuse, and interpersonal conflicts. Our center focuses on serving populations with limited access to care, emphasizing culturally competent practices and sensitivity to the unique experiences of each client.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field is required.
  • An active and unrestricted Professional Counselor (LPC) license in the state of New Jersey is mandatory.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a counseling setting is essential, ideally within a clinical environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) software and related health technology is expected.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport and trust with a diverse clientele.
  • A solid understanding of ethical and legal standards governing counseling practices is important for maintaining client confidentiality and professional integrity.
Preferred Experience
  • Specializations in areas such as family therapy, couples therapy, trauma-informed care, or substance misuse treatment are highly preferred.
  • Previous experience collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care is beneficial.
