Program Management Responsibilities; CNC Machine Programs
General Responsibilities:
- Participate in on-going technical liaison with customer product engineering on necessary part design issues, locate, clamp and transfer areas and tolerance concerns
- Act as technical liaison to customers manufacturing/industrial engineers in areas of plant layouts, facilities requirements and spare part requirements
- Technical coordination of machine, process, tooling and fixture design and approval between customer and Heller Germany Engineering and Program Management.
- Provide technical coordination for other Heller divisions providing equipment for this product line, to achieve maximum commonality.
- Work together with the Heller Germany PMO Project Manager on projects assigned a PM.
- Provide monthly progress reports to customer in Gantt chart form using project management software.
- Maintain other Heller standard project management reporting tools such as open issue lists, meeting minutes and Order Change Requests
- Coordinate fixture /gage locate and clamp points with gaging system/CMM suppliers and advise concerning in-process dimensional gaging requirements
- Order ancillary equipment and coordinate technical interface drawings with equipment suppliers.
- Coordinate machine qualification and acceptance of process and duplicate machines at HUS.
- Coordinate installation and tryout of Heller machines at customer site, meeting machine acceptance and timing requirements
- Performance to budgets
- Performance to Project Schedules
- Manpower & resource planning at the site for all ancillary Suppliers
- Coordinate & report out on lessons learned
- Coordination of internal Heller resources for assigned projects
- Signoff of documents for all equipment
- The ability to travel to support Program Launches
Program Management Responsibilities; Crankshaft Machine Programs (If assigned responsibility)
- Monitor program status and assist Heller Germany (HNT) with program needs during machine design, build and shipment.
- Local contact assisting HNT with customer product engineering on necessary part design issues
- Local contact assisting HNT with communication to customers manufacturing/industrial engineers in areas of plant layouts, facilities requirements and spare part requirements
- Provide technical coordination for other Heller divisions providing equipment for the crankshaft machine product line, to achieve maximum commonality.
- Assist HNT with monthly progress reports to customer in Gantt chart form using project management software through machine shipment from Germany.
- Update and distribute monthly progress reports to customer in Gantt chart form using project management software from shipment through final signoff as applicable and requested by HNT.
- Maintain other Heller standard project management reporting tools such as meeting minutes and Order Change Requests
- Monitor and assist HNT with machine qualification and acceptance of process.
- Coordinate installation and tryout of Heller machines at customer site, meeting machine acceptance and timing requirements
- Maintain, update and publish Open Issues Lists for each North American plant installation as applicable and requested by HNT.
- Manpower & resource planning at customer’s site for all ancillary Suppliers together with HNT.
- Coordinate & report out of lessons learned from the installation process together with HNT.
- Coordination of resources during the installation phase together with HNT.
- Coordinate final signoff of all program documents for all equipment together with HNT.
- The ability to travel both international and domestically to customer plants to support Program Launches
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate project team members
- No direct supervisory responsibility
Education and Experience:
- Requires at least a Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field and/or 5 to 10 years of Program Management experience and responsibilities
- Minimum 10 years automotive and machine tool experience.
- Applicable Program Manager Certifications, preferred.
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Hard Skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Microsoft Office Product application capability (specifically Word, Excel, Power point and Project)
- Thorough understanding of Heller processes: Kickoff, Mechanical Design, Electrical Design, Material Control, Build, Installation and OCR.
- Soft Skills
- Lead project team (clarify goals, prioritize tasks, coordinate resources, resolve issues)
- Manage time effectively
- Communicate effectively with customer, suppliers, Heller management and employees

Physical Demands:
- Some physical exertion required.
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and occasionally bend and move about the facility.
Personal Protective Equipment:

- Hearing protection may be required while performing specific tasks.
- Steel toe safety shoes may be required while performing specific tasks.
Work Environment:
- Works in an office, HUS plant and at Customer site.
Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
