Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Mental Health Therapist at Heartlight Counseling Center, you will:

  • Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate client needs, focusing on mood disorders such as depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, prioritizing their unique goals and circumstances.
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to promote emotional and psychological growth.
  • Provide crucial education to clients and their families about mood disorders and effective self-care strategies.
  • Regularly monitor client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to create a coordinated approach to treatment.
  • Maintain comprehensive and confidential documentation of clients' treatment plans, assessments, and sessions in adherence to legal and ethical guidelines.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay informed of current research and best practices in mental health treatment.
  • Participate in team meetings and case consultations to continuously improve the quality of care provided to our clients.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with individuals experiencing a variety of mood disorders. The patients we serve often face significant challenges that require empathetic and effective therapeutic interventions. Your role will contribute to their recovery and personal development, helping them to navigate their mental health journeys.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, candidates must possess:

  • A valid license in California as an LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC.
  • A Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in providing therapy to individuals with mood disorders.
  • In-depth knowledge of California laws and professional ethics regarding mental health treatment.
  • A current TB test (within the last six months).
  • A successful background check through the FBI and DOJ.
Preferred Experience

Experience in handling addiction treatment, learning disabilities, and social/emotional disorders is highly desirable. Familiarity with community health clinic systems and interdisciplinary collaboration will be an asset. Strong communication skills and the ability to work autonomously while being a proactive team member are essential.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary range of USD 115,000 to 130,000 annually. For licensed therapists who join us, a sign-on bonus awaits.
