We are currently seeking a hard-working, hands-on individual to fill the role of
Mill Operator at our Heartland facility located in
Toledo, OH. This role will include performing a combination of tasks which include storing and handling grain products, and maintaining a clean, safe, and well-kept facility.
Pay: $19 - 20 per hour depending on experience
Responsibilities
- Assist in maintaining the quality and quantity of stored grain.
- Bag ingredients and assist with loading and unloading trucks and railroad cars.
- Operate heavy equipment, including pay loaders, skid steers, forklifts, and railroad car movers.
- Start conveyors, select flow spouts, set trippers, and select storage tanks to convey grain into storage or to the loading department.
- Perform general housekeeping activities inside and outside the facility.
- Assist with maintenance of the plant and equipment.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Work in multiple locations and perform a variety of tasks as needed.
- Deliver feed, grain, and other products.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Position may require a CDL.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write simple correspondence; and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group settings.
- Ability to perform basic math functions, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
- Comfort using a variety of computer software, including spreadsheet and word processing applications, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
