Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients seeking mental health support, using evidence-based approaches to formulate individualized treatment plans.
• Facilitate a variety of therapeutic modalities, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and solution-focused brief therapy, to address the unique needs of clients.
• Provide counseling sessions to individuals, families, and groups, adapting your therapeutic approach based on the client’s specific circumstances and cultural background.
• Maintain meticulous clinical documentation in compliance with ethical and legal standards, ensuring accurate records of client progress and treatment outcomes.
• Engage in continual professional development by participating in workshops, seminars, and peer supervision to enhance skills and stay abreast of the latest mental health research.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role will involve working with a diverse clientele, including children, adolescents, adults, and families facing various challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. You will play a pivotal role in offering support and guidance to clients who may have limited access to traditional mental health care, encouraging them towards recovery and personal growth.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• A current and unrestricted license to practice as a Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of New York.
• A minimum of two years of experience in a counseling capacity, ideally in a clinical or telehealth setting.
• Strong understanding of legal and ethical standards in counseling practices.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective rapport-building with clients from various backgrounds.
• A proven ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary health care teams.
• Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and telehealth technologies.

Preferred Experience

• Specialization or additional credentials in family therapy, trauma-informed care, couples therapy, or substance misuse treatment.
• Experience working with underserved populations or in community mental health settings is highly valued.
• Familiarity with integrated care models and multi-faceted treatment approaches.

Compensation and Benefits

Heart Share Community Services offers a competitive annual salary ranging from $70,000 to $90,000 based on your experience and caseload.
