Work Environment

The work environment at Unihealth MD Surgical Center is collaborative and patient-focused, situated in a community that values healthcare accessibility. The center employs a multidisciplinary approach, with physicians, nurses, and support staff working side by side in a supportive and efficient space. This onsite position operates from Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a predictable and manageable work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and obtain thorough patient histories to inform diagnosis and treatment plans.
• Interpret and evaluate laboratory results, imaging studies, and other diagnostic tests to address a variety of common health conditions and illnesses.
• Develop and implement effective treatment plans, including prescribing medications and managing therapeutic interventions collaboratively with supervising physicians.
• Educate patients on their health conditions, treatment options, medication adherence, and preventive care strategies to enhance overall health outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient interactions and care provided in our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, adhering strictly to industry regulations and organizational policies.
• Monitor patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to promote optimal healing and health along their healthcare journey.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Physician Assistant will engage with a diverse patient population, managing both acute and chronic conditions in a surgical setting. Patients will range from pre-operative consultations to post-operative follow-ups, requiring a comprehensive understanding of surgical care, risk factors, and recovery protocols. Our focus on patient-centered care ensures that each individual receives personalized attention tailored to their specific health needs.

Qualifications

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant studies or a related field from an accredited program is required.
• Licensure: Active Physician Assistant license in the state of New York.
• Certification: Nationally certified by the NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants).

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of two years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in surgical care, is highly desirable.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required.
• While experience is preferred, motivated new graduates seeking to build their clinical skills will also be considered.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive annual salary ranging from $120,000 to $150,000, commensurate with experience, with an attractive benefits package that includes:
