Responsibilities
- Conduct occupational therapy evaluations and develop treatment plans for residents in a long-term care setting to support activities of daily living and functional mobility.
- Implement evidence-based OT interventions; monitor progress and adjust plans as needed to meet resident goals.
- Document assessments, goals, progress notes, and discharge plans in the medical record, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (nursing, PT/SLP, social work) to coordinate resident care and ensure alignment of goals.
- Educate residents and families on therapy programs, adaptive equipment, home exercise programs, and safety strategies.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, facility policies, and applicable payer guidelines; ensure accurate and timely billing documentation.
Requirements
- Active OT license or eligibility for licensure in New Mexico.
- Graduation from an accredited OT program (Master’s or Doctorate as applicable).
- Ability to deliver OT services in a long-term care setting; experience in LTC is preferred.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for interprofessional teamwork.
- Ability to document and bill accurately and timely; proficiency with electronic medical records.
- Availability to work Monday–Friday on a 13-week travel assignment and adapt to assignment requirements.
