Job Title: Healthcare Support

Job Description

This entry-level Healthcare Support role focuses on delivering excellent customer service to patients while supporting dental clinic operations in a call center environment. You will confirm and schedule appointments, manage patient information, and handle inbound and outbound calls, contributing to a positive experience for patients and a smooth workflow for the healthcare team.

Responsibilities

  • Confirm and schedule appointments for all dental clinics in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Maintain a high level of customer service when interacting with patients, vendors, and coworkers.

  • Handle inbound and outbound calls professionally, addressing questions, concerns, and scheduling needs.

  • Perform data entry accurately, including entering and updating patient information in electronic systems.

  • Verify and update patient records to ensure information is current and complete.

  • Support patient care coordination by ensuring appointment details and follow-up information are clear and documented.

  • Collaborate with team members in the call center and clinical staff to support daily operational needs.

  • Follow established protocols and procedures to ensure consistency and quality in patient interactions.

Essential Skills

  • At least 6 months of experience in healthcare or a related healthcare support role.

  • Customer service experience, preferably in a call center, healthcare, or medical environment.

  • Ability to handle high volumes of inbound and outbound calls with professionalism and patience.

  • Strong appointment scheduling skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Proficiency in data entry and updating patient information in electronic systems or electronic health records.

  • Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English.

  • High school diploma or equivalent education.

  • Interest in a career within the medical field, such as medical assisting or patient care.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills when working with patients, vendors, and coworkers.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information appropriately.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Medical assisting diploma or dental assisting diploma preferred.

  • X-ray certification is preferred.

  • Experience working with electronic health record systems is a plus.

  • BG in customer service, patient care, or medical office support is beneficial.

  • Demonstrated interest in professional growth and development within the healthcare field.

  • Ability to adapt to a structured training program lasting approximately 3โ€“5 months.

Work Environment

This role is based in a call center environment that supports a large medical group within Santa Barbara County. You will work primarily on the phone using a headset provided by the employer, managing calls and appointments for multiple dental clinics. The position offers an entry-level pathway into healthcare with a structured training program lasting approximately 3โ€“5 months and opportunities for growth and professional development. The environment emphasizes teamwork, consistent processes, and a strong focus on patient-centered service.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Santa Barbara, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.00/hr.
